It was 25 years ago that a group of cabin owners first organized on Lake Vermilion to fight against excessive property taxes on lakeshore property. We realized that taxes were growing so quickly that owners were being forced to sell off heirloom properties we wanted to pass on to our children and grandchildren. Leaving a family lake legacy still drives our work, but besides keeping lake places affordable, we are also working to protect the lakes themselves. Together we have had tremendous success. We hope to see you at the MLR 25th Annual Meeting, and thank you for your energy, activism and support.
